Banding Summary: Week of August 31, 2003

Sunday August 31. 44 new, 12 recaps. Erin Karnatz assisted by Chris Villone, Coby Klein, and Janice Marsden had a good day and enjoyed banding 14 Cedar Waxwings.

Monday September 1.
42 new, 26 recaps. Jon Dombrowski assisted by Ann Adams, Virginia Duffy, Coby Klein, and Judy Engerman band nine warbler species including 11 Magnolia Warblers.

Tuesday September 2.
5 new, 14 recaps. A very slow day with six banders and assistants and just five new birds captured!

Wednesday September 3. 5
new, 5 recaps. Another painfully slow day!

Thursday September 4.
23 new, 15 recaps. New species Gray-cheeked/Bicknell's Thrush, Wood Thrush. John Waud is BIC with help from Doug Smith, Coby Klein, Barb Wagner, Marilyn Guenther, and Cindy Marino especially enjoy the second Connecticut Warbler of the fall.

Friday September 5.
27 new, 10 recaps. Cindy Marino is BIC with help from Virginia Duffy, Shirley Meston, John Lehr, and Judy Gurley have a steady day with Yellow-bellied, Traill's and Least Flycatchers and Nashville, Magnolia, Blackpoll, American Redstart, Common Yellowthroat, and Wilson's Warbler. 

Saturday September 6.
53 new; 4 recaps. New species Northern Parula, Western Palm Warbler, Ovenbird. Bob McKinney with help from Chita and Pat Lovallo enjoyed a real nice assortment of birds with many warblers following the passage of a cold front and southwest winds.
