Banding Summary: Week of April 18, 2004

Wednesday April 21. We set up the banding station with warm SW winds blowing and hawks migrating overhead. Thanks to the super crew including Betsy Brooks, Jon Dombrowski, Erin Karnatz (with help from Delaney and 4-week old Rowan), Cindy Marino, Debbie Reed, Doug Smith and Barb Wagner. 

Friday April 23. 14 new bands, 3 recaps. New species Black-capped Chickadee, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Hermit Thrush, American Robin, Song Sparrow, White-throated Sparrow, Northern Cardinal. Jon Dombrowksi was bander-in-charge (BIC) assisted by Shirley Meston, and John Lehr. 

Saturday April 24. 24 new bands, 8 recaps. New species Sharp-shinned Hawk, Blue Jay, Brown Creeper, House Wren, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Brown Thrasher, Northern Waterthrush, Fox Sparrow, Slate-colored Junco. Jon Dombrowski was BIC assisted by Doug Smith, and Linda Boutwell.
