Banding Summary:
Week of October 16, 2005 |

Sunday October 16. 21 new, 3 recaps, 6 species. It’s a slow day and we shut the nets early because of the wind.
Monday October 17. 121 new, 20 species; new species Fox Sparrow. BIC Bob McKinney with help from Chita, Ruth Stork, Pat Lovallo and Doug Smith, enjoy the first Fox Sparrow of the season, along with a late Warbling Vireo and Rose-breasted Grosbeak.
Tuesday October 18. 44 new, 23 recaps, 12 species. BIC Kelly Dockery and crew enjoy two Fox Sparrows and four Tufted Titmice.
Wednesday October 19. 44 new, 13 species; new species American Tree Sparrow.
Thursday October 20. 32 new, 18 recaps, 8 species. BIC Jon Dombrowski and crew enjoy a beautiful Fox Sparrow and a Hairy Woodpecker. The chickadees, which had dwindled from their earlier high of 27 on October 3, seem to be increasing again with 11 banded today.
Friday October 21. 105 new, 15 species. BIC Bob McKinney and crew cope with 38 Black-capped Chickadees!
Saturday October 22. No banding today due to the rain.
