Banding Summary: Week of April 17, 2005

Sunday April 17. 70 new, 7 recaps, 14 species. Erin Karnatz is bander-in-charge (BIC) and we enjoy many visitors from the Eastern Bird Banding Association. Three Fox Sparrows and 23 juncos are a special treat.

Monday April 18. 32 new, 13 species. Bob McKinney is BIC with help from Cricket Fegan, Cindy Marino, Carolyn Ragan, and Marilyn Guenther. 

Tuesday April 19. 59 new, 8 recaps, 19 species. Cindy Marino is BIC with assistance from Linda Boutwell,Ruth Stork and Donna Hilborn. Bird of the day was Ruby-crowned Kinglet with 33 banded. 

Wednesday April 20. 24 new, 3 recaps, 6 species. Jon Dombrowski is BIC with help from Kelly Dockery, Cricket Fegan and Marilyn Guenther. 

Thursday April 21. 39 new, 9 species. Bob Mckinney is BIC assisted by Linda Boutwell, Jon Dombrowski, Donna Hilborn, Nancy Chevalier, and Ruth Stork. We band only the fifth spring intergrade Flicker since 1985, and the first House Finch since 2002. 

Friday April 22. 14 new, 5 recaps, 4 species. Kelly Dockery is BIC assisted by Barb Wagner, and John Lehr. 

Saturday April 23. 10 new, 3 species. Bob and Chita McKinney, Jesse Roberts, Cindy Marino and Pat Lovallo fold the nets early as bad weather moves in.
