Tuesday May 10. 210 new, 7 recaps, 42 species; new species Traill's Flycatcher, Warbling Vireo, Gray Catbird, Blue-winged Warbler, Brewster's Warbler, Orange-crowned Warbler, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Magnolia Warbler, Black-throated Green Warbler, American Redstart, Wilson's Warbler, Lincoln's Sparrow, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Brown-headed Cowbird, and Baltimore Oriole. AT LAST … a good day!!!! Highlights include 12 Baltimore Orioles, 15 new species for the season, 3 Brewster's Warblers and a great crew that worked beautifully together. We hope to capture the Swainson's Warbler seen earlier by Dave Tetlow in the pear orchard, but that doesn't happen.

Wednesday May 11. 147 new, 2 recaps, 39 species; new species American Kestrel, Swainson's Thrush, Wood Thrush, European Starling, Hooded Warbler, and Canada Warbler. A Whip-poor-will sings behind the Reed's cottage starting at 4 AM, a sign of another good day to come. The captures include six new species for the season and 15 warbler species.

Thursday May 12. 28 new, 13 recaps, 13 species; new species Red-winged Blackbird. The action slows as the wind shifts to the NW. We enjoy a visit from last Year's BTC grad - Jennifer Hanley and her father.

Friday May 13. 18 new, 15 recaps, 12 species. Another day with more banders and Volunteers than birds!!!! We feel fortunate to get a male Sharp-shinned Hawk to members of the Allyn's Creek Garden Club, our generous supporters.

Saturday May 14. 148 new, 29 species; new species Great Crested Flycatcher, Eastern Bluebird, Golden-winged Warbler, and Scarlet Tanager. It's a 'gift' of good banding as the showers hold off. We enjoy a beautiful adult male Scarlet Tanager and an adult male Eastern Bluebird (only our fourth ever captured here). We band an amazing 41 Western Palm Warblers!
