Banding Summary: Week of June 3, 2007

Tuesday June 5. 108 new of 29 species . Bob McKinney is BIC with help from Chita. It is definitely a flycatcher day as they band 2 Eastern Wood Pewees, 28 Yellow-bellied Flycatchers, 2 Acadian Flycatchers, 20 Traill’s Flycatchers and 1 Great Crested Flycatcher.

Thursday June 7. 78 new of 19 species. Bird of the day is Cedar Waxwing with 26 banded!

Friday June 8. 50 new of 17 species. Migration is beginning to come to an end. Bob McKinney bands 10 more Cedar Waxwings - again the bird of the day.

Monday June 11. 30 new of 13 species. It is the last day of spring migration banding. A surprise is an Eastern White Crowned Sparrow on the first net check of the day and a Brewster’s Warbler on the final check of the season!
