Sunday May 27. 280 new of 35 species; 20 recaps. It’s a huge day with a small crew so we are not able to open all the nets. Erin Karnatz and Rachel Muheim band non-stop while Marilyn Guenther and Jeanne Skelly keep the nets clear and Scott Wolcott scribes. Bird of the day is definitely Magnolia Warbler with 98 banded! Sixteen warbler species are banded along with 28 Yellow-bellied Flycatchers!

Monday May 28. 102 new of 31 species; 8 recaps; new species Red-winged Blackbird. Cindy Marino is BIC with welcome help from Rachel Muheim, Virginia Duffy, Peggy Keller, and Nancy Chevalier.

Tuesday May 29. 90 new of 30 species; 14 recaps. Kelly Dockery is BIC with help from Ruth Stork, Gary Herbert, Doug Smith, Rachel Muheim, and Jesse Roberts.

Wednesday May 30. 137 new of 34 species; 11 recaps. Bird of the day is Magnolia Warbler with 39 banded, but 17 Traill’s Flycatchers make life interesting!

Thursday May 31. 88 new of 25 species; 6 recaps. Jon Dombrowski is BIC with help from Marian Klik, Gary Herbert and Ruth Stork.

Friday June 1. 119 new of 28 species; 10 recaps. Kelly Dockery is BIC with help from Jon Dombrowski, Marilyn Guenther, John Lehr and Bob Spahn. Bird of the day is Traill’s Flycatcher with 20 banded. We have a nice variety of warblers – 14 species. But the surprise of the day is a fascinating gynandromorphic Black-throated Blue Warbler showing male characteristics on its left side and female on its right side.
