Banding Summary: Week of August 31, 2008

Sunday August 31. 61 new of 14 species. Erin Karnatz is BIC with help from Virginia Duffy and Leanna Twohig. Bird of the day is Magnolia Warbler with 27 banded.

Monday September 1. 43 new of 15 species; new species Connecticut Warbler. David Bonter is BIC with help from Jessie Barry, Liz Barry, Peggy Keller and Shirley Meston. Magnolia Warbler is bird of the day with 13 banded.

Tuesday September 2. 45 new of 18 species; new species Northern Flicker. David Bonter is BIC with the assistance of Aggie Windig and Doug Smith. Magnolia Warbler is bird of the day with 13 banded.

Wednesday September 3. 31 new of 14 species. David Bonter is BIC with assistance from Sue Evans and Marilyn Guenther. We enjoy a visit from Dr. Kristi Hannam’s Animal Behavior Lab students from SUNY Geneseo.

Thursday September 4. 24 new of 12 species; new species Blackpoll Warbler. David Bonter is BIC with help from Sue Evans and John Waud.

Friday September 5. 30 new of 15 species; new species Black-throated Green Warbler. David Bonter is BIC with help from Marian Klik, John Lehr, Marilyn Guenther and Tom Klotzbach. Magnolia Warbler is bird of the day with 10 banded.

Saturday September 6. 28 new of 9 species. Bob McKinney is BIC with assistance from Chita. Bird of the day is Gray Catbird with 8 banded.
