Banding Summary: Week of October 18, 2009

Sunday October 18.  37 new bandings of 12 species; 37 recaps.  David Bonter if BIC with help from Barb Wagner, Marilyn Guenther and the Podulka family.  Bird of the day is Ruby-crowned Kinglet with 10 banded, but an Orange-crowned Warbler really brightens up the day!

Monday October 19. 25 new of 10 species; 17 recaps.  Marian Klik is BIC with help from Cindy Marino, Amanda Burns, Pat Lovallo, Terry Perry and Jane Capellupo.  A Hairy and a Downy Woodpecker make the morning interesting as well as a late Red-eyed Vireo and Gray Catbird. 

Tuesday October 20.   27 new of 6 species.  Bob McKinney is BIC.  Twelve Black-capped Chickadees are banded, the most in any day this fall so far.  Is this is the sign of sore fingers to come?

Wednesday October 21.  89 new of 13 species; 26 recaps.  Jon Dombrowski is BIC with help from Amanda Burns, Marilyn Guenther, Laura Evans and Tom Verhulst.  Highlights of the day were a handsome Fox Sparrow and a Field Sparrow.  Birds of the day were Black-capped Chickadee with 17 banded and White-throated Sparrow with 16 banded. 

Thursday October 22.  46 new of 12 species.  Bob McKinney is BIC and bands 14 Black-capped Chickadees and 12 Hermit Thrush. 

Friday October 23. Did not operate

Saturday October 24.  Did not operate
