Banding Summary: Week of September 6, 2009

Sunday September 6.  85 new bandings of 17 species; 20 recaps.  Erin Karnatz is bander in charge (BIC) with help from Leanna Twohig, Barb Wagner, Greg Lawrence and Kelly Wicks.  Bird of the day is Magnolia Warbler with 39 banded. 

Monday September 7.  27 new of 16 species; 8 recaps.  We have a good number of Labor Day Visitors to see nine warbler species banded.  Cindy Marino is BIC with help from Shirley Meston, Peggy Keller, Terry Perry, Amanda Burns.

Tuesday September 8.  35 new of 14 species; 9 recaps.  Bird of the day is Red-eyed Vireo with 9 banded.  Kelly Dockery is BIC with help from Doug Smith, Aggie Windig, Jeanne Skelly, Gary Herbert, and Kathy Habgood. 

Wednesday September 9  14 new of 6 species; 7 recaps.  It’s a slow day with Magnolia Warbler bird of the day with six banded.   We enjoy a visit from Dr. Kristi Hannam’s Animal Behavior Lab from SUNY Geneseo.

Thursday September 10.  25 new bands of 13 species; 11 recaps.  John Waud is BIC with help from Virginia Duffy, Pat Lovallo, Peggy Keller, Cathy Belair and Tom Verhulst.

Friday September 11.  19 new bands of 8 species; 14 recaps.  Ryan Kayhart returns to BBBO from Vermont and he and Kelly Dockery are BIC with help from Tom Klotzbach, Marilyn Gunther, John Lehr and Judy Engerman. 

Saturday September 12.  15 new bands of 9 species.  Chita and Bob McKinney, and Greg Lawrence have a disappointingly slow day.  Sue Smith and Martyna Boruta continue their research projects.
