Advanced Bander Workshop with Peter Pyle:

Braddock Bay Bird Observatory, in cooperation with the Institute for Bird Populations, is pleased to announce that we have scheduled another Advanced Bander Workshop, which will be taught by Peter Pyle at Braddock Bay from Monday evening May 28 to Friday morning June 1, 2012. The four-day advanced classes are designed for experienced banders who wish to improve their sexing and ageing skills. The class will focus on understanding and identifying the differences between specific adult age classes using the Identification Guide to North American Birds by Peter Pyle. We will also spend some time, as needed, addressing other advanced skills, such as skulling, refining the scoring of various characteristics, and interpreting these characteristics for age and sex determinations.

Participants will be limited to 14. The cost for the workshop will be $650 ($550 early registration, payment by April 1, 2012). Breakfast and lunches are included; lodging is not provided.

Applications may be obtained from Betsy Brooks (brookser@earthlink.net) and will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
